There are three CI programs that provide food and shelter to local residents in need. Community Lunch, with 60 volunteers this year, served lunch to 1400 people at a local church. Forty five volunteer members of Project for the Homeless supervised 2 homeless shelters for 8 months that gave a place to sleep to 45 residents. Sixty Habitat for Humanity volunteers partnered with local groups to restore houses damaged in Hurricane Sandy, Community Centers and parks. In addition, Community Impact operates a food pantry at Ford Hall on W114th St on Mondays and Thursdays.
