Ways to Support
Community Impact relies on the generosity of donors like you to deliver its educational and social services programs in Upper Manhattan. Launched in 1981, we have grown into the largest service organization at Columbia University. Our successful growth is a testament to the immense need for our work among low-income children and families in Morningside Heights, Harlem and Washington Heights.
Your support helps us respond to this need. You can support CI by making a donation on this site, or attending the annual CI Gala Benefit Auction.
Today Community Impact serves over 8,000 low-income Upper Manhattan residents annually in four program areas:
- Youth mentoring and tutoring
- Adult education and job training
- Health advocacy and education
- Emergency shelter and hunger relief services
Our work is delivered by 900 Columbia and Barnard student volunteers dedicated to helping their neighbors in need. We partner with 100 community agencies to ensure we are reaching local residents and responding to their most pressing needs.
As we look to the future, we are committed to continuing to respond to these needs. With your support we will strengthen our role as a leading service agency in the Upper Manhattan safety net. We will provide a bridge between the University and its surrounding neighborhoods. And we will equip our student volunteers with the skills to become successful leaders.
